 Smt. Ivy Dian Dey began her journey into the world of Bharatanatyam at the tender age of five, inspired and encouraged by her mother. She commenced her training under the esteemed guidance of Guru Smt. Rupa Das, an alumnus of Rabindranritya Bharati University, who has been running her dance school for the past 30 years. Ivy’s passion for Bharatanatyam led her to pursue a master’s degree in the art form. Throughout her journey, she had the privilege of learning from many distinguished teachers, obtaining various certifications that enriched her expertise. As an accomplished dancer and educator, Ivy holds an advanced diploma in Rabindranritya. She has choreographed over 150 performances and currently leads a dance school where more than 80 children and adults learn under her guidance. Ivy offers certification in Bharatanatyam, which can earn students college credits, broadening their academic and artistic horizons. Ivy has also made significant contributions to the dance community by conducting numerous workshops at events like Northwest Folklife and various other cultural celebrations. She has judged several dance competitions in the Greater Seattle area, where many of her students have won trophies, showcasing their talent and dedication. In recognition of her contributions to the arts and community, Ivy received the prestigious Women Ikon Award in 2019.
